Figures my internet wasn't working last year when they gave out pumpkin heads... now my necro just looks like santa... FROM HELL!

but seriously, I wouldn't mind them laying off an event. Nightfall will be enough fun for me

I would love for this even to happen again this year. The Mad King was the most entertaining event NPC yet. But I would not be supprised if it didn't happen, since it is only a few days after Nightfalls release.

they will probably coincide the nightfall release with the halloween event. similar to the day of tengu, there will be some special event in the n00b areas of nightfall about halloween, and it will change once the holiday is over

I really hope the rumor is false and Anet does have a Halloween event planned because imo it was the best event ever.
The events are not meant for making money. They are meant for having fun. Accually, if there is a christmas event, I wouldn't be surpised if they took away the candy canes, just so people can't make that much profit from an event.

How is that even remotely related to the halloween event?

I really hope there is the event though. At least have the same thing from last year. Even that will be good, although, since many people probably will be playing nightfall then, I can understand if they don't have the event. As long as I can play nightfall, I'm happy. (though special events are always a bonus! )

if they have the event there will be CC.

dont worry about the profit on them as everybody is going to get a bundle of them to get rich and then they will all be trying to sell to someone who already has them.

the few that are buying will be paying 50-100 gold max

Decayed Orr Emblems (and a few other items such as Caromi Scalps) could be turned in at special collectors for Event-Specific Items such as "Ghost-In-The-Box"es and "Witch's Brew". I still have a few ghosts around...

But I sure wouldn't go farming in advance since it's awefully tedious to do it in the numbers bryann is talking about, and you never know if the collectors will be looking for different items this time around.

I will be very disappointed if they don't have a Halloween event this year. I've been looking forward to it since November!

I really REALLY hope they will do Halloween again. And hopefully in a big city like Lions Arch again. Make it really creepy, with the cool moon and dark sky, and zombies walking around again.
But if they celebrate it in Nightfall starters island, which is what I would do, to stimulate sales of Nightfall, then the collectors for holiday items will need new, different collectors items from elone. So don't stack up on orr emblems.
Man, 3 out of 6 of my chars have pumpkin heads. The other 3 are SOOOOO jealous of them. I need pumpkins!!! And Yule caps too hehehe.

As Gaile said yesterday: there will be an event. But she also said we shouldn't expect too much, as the crew - of course - still concentrates on GW:N until its release. She doesn't know anything about goodies, headgear or special items, but there will definately be some Helloween-stuff. I'm pretty sure it will be seen in all campaigns.
She also said that she'll ask about getting masks/hats from events for a small amount someday, as well as the option to upgrade the candy-weapons from wintersday.

My monk farms undead all the time anyway so about 2 months ago, I decided to start saving emblems in case we do get another Halloween emblem collector. At the time of this post, I now have 2,134. In case they cannot be used this year, the merchant will buy each stack for 3K.
